Μεγάλες πλημμύρες στο Κουίνσλαντ. Μωρό βρέθηκε πνιγμένο

Οι πλημμύρες που πλήτουν την περιοχή του Σαν Τζώρτζ Κουηνσλάνδης και έχουν προκαλέσει μεγάλες καταστροφές, φαινεται πως ήταν η αιτία να πνιγει και ένα 18 μηνιάτικο παιδί.


Οι πλημμύρες  είχαν σαν αποτέλεσμα να εκκενωθουν πολλες κατοικίες και να μετα φερθόυν σε άλλες περιοχές π;νω απο 2000 κάτοικοι του Σαν Τζώρτζ..

A TODDLER has drowned near the flood-stricken town of St George, where about 3000 residents have been evacuated.
The body of the 18-month old was found in a dam on a property near the south-west Queensland town after reportedly wandering away from home. Authorities said the tragic incident was unrelated to the flooding that has caused havoc across the region and left several towns and outlying properties isolated.
The toddler's death follows the discovery of the body of a woman who drowned in Roma after trying to cross a flooded road. Jane Sheahan died, however her seven-year-old son was rescued.
An estimated 2000 residents of St George were evacuated overnight, to nearby towns and even Brisbane, amid warnings of a record flood that would breach the town's normal levee banks. Some 300-400 residents were thought to have stayed behind to try to limit the damage, even building a temporary levee bank in an attempt to control the waters.
