Ο πλέον ασυμβίβαστος και ο πλέον μαχητικός Ελληνοαυστραλός πολιτικός στην Αυστραλία,ο ανεξάρτητος Γερουσιαστής Νικος Ξενοφών,  πιάστηκε στις τελευταίες διαδηλώσεις που έγιναν στην Μαλαισία και δήλωσε ότι η Αυστραλιανή κυβέρνηση μένει βουβή έναντι των υποθέσεων των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων στη νοτιο-ανατολική αυτη χωρα της Ασίας ,επειδή θέλει να στέλνει τους πρόσφυγες που καταφθάνουν στην Αυστραλία στη Μαλαισία...
Χθες Σάββατο,δεκάδες χιλιάδες διαδηλωτές κατέκλυσαν την Κουάλα Λουμπούρ απαιτωντας αλλαγες στον εκλογικό νόμο, εν όψει των εθνικών εκλογών στη χώρα που επίκεινται να παραγματοποιηθον να γίνουν σύντομα...
Ο γερουσιαστής Ξενοφων ο οποποιος βρίσκεται στην Μαλαισιανή πρωτεύουσα για να παρακολουθήσει τις εξελίξεις γύρω απο τις εκει εκλογ΄ες,δέχθηκε δακρυγόνες βόμβες προς την κατεύθυνσή του κατα τη διάρκεια της διαδήλωσης..
Πριν απο την επίθεση της αστυνομίας , με δακρυγόνα και χημικά,δήλωσε, η πορεία ήταν ειρηνική και υπηρχαν ομιλίες και προσευχή απο τον ηγέτη της αξιωματικής αντιπολίτευσης Ανουάρ Ιμπραήμ...

Independent senator Nick Xenophon has been caught in protests in Malaysia and says the Australian government has been mute on human rights issues in the south-east Asian country because it still wants to pursue a people-swap deal.
Tens of thousands of demonstrators swamped Kuala Lumpur yesterday to demand electoral reforms, ahead of national polls expected soon.
Senator Xenophon, who is in the Malaysian capital on a fact-finding mission on election processes in Malaysia, had tear gas fired in his direction during a demonstration.
He said police had fired tear gas and chemical-laced water at demonstrators.
Up until then, it had been a peaceful rally that had included chanting and a speech by Malaysia's opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim.
Senator Xenophon said Australia must rethink its relationship with Malaysia.
"I wonder whether the Australian government has been mute about human rights issues ... by virtue of our reliance on the refugee swap deal," he told ABC radio.
"This is a country that the Australian government is happy to do refugee swaps with. It raises serious questions over how authoritarian it is."
Last year the High Court scuttled plans by the federal government to swap 800 asylum seekers with 4000 processed refugees from Malaysia and cast doubt on the legality of offshore processing.
The government has since failed to get the numbers in parliament to pass legislation allowing offshore processing.
Liberal frontbencher Christopher Pyne said: "The Malaysia solution is all but dead."
"It hasn't even be brought into the parliament for a vote," he told Sky News today.
Mr Pyne said the plan was "as dead as a dodo".
"If the government has a better policy they should come out with one," he said.
My Pyne said 300 boats had arrived since the former Howard government's Pacific Solution was abolished.
"This is one of those carbuncles for the government that won't go away until they swallow their pride and return to the previous government's policies," he said.
